What's Happening?

Hello!

Sorry for the lack of updates on this space, had a pretty shitty time the first few months of the year- dealing with heartbreak + out of control PMS mood swings + school (lawd don't get me started) and I didn't have any fun stuff to update about. Actually let me just take a moment to talk about school. This semester was bad. I took the excel course which is notorious and I have been dreading it since the first semester ever in school. Then there was the Singapore Studies module- Govt & Politics in Singapore. I went for about 30% of the lectures and there were only like 3 tutorials (of which I did not attend one lulz). I thought I would learn alot about Singapore Politics but I was wrong. I mean if i did go for all the lectures and didn't spend 98% of the time talking to Davvy or texting I would probably learn some stuff. Then for the remaining three modules I just navigated through the rough waters trying not to drown and ditched about 50% of the classes because I felt like I was wasting my time. God was also extremely unkind to me in terms of my love life which was just like wtfwaiwatdididotodeservedis-STAAAAAHP. But at least I found humor in it so that was good. Also I have great friends both in and out of university so things weren't all that bad.

As of now, in a strange turn of events it seems that my luck has turned around! I spent the semester trying to score an internship in New York City- which amazingly I did get albeit after tremendous amounts of admin processes + interviews + other extremely annoying things (EXTREMELY. ANNOYING). I also managed to get my local internship at the very last minute. So I can take my leave of absence from Aug- Dec when I get back from USA. Otherwise I would have to do an extra semester of 2 modules which would still cost like $4,000.

I got my results for the semester back and I got all Bs!!!! Which is the first time that has ever happened in my 2 years of University. I was expecting AT LEAST 2 Cs. Was so nervous I downed the worst Sangria in New York and vomitted outside the house (what's new) (lolol).

NYC is also really expensive and I did my pre-departure expenses on excel (I can't even type this sentence without rolling my eyes- I srsly hate excel after that module) and realised I am going to be in debt until I am 30. Like, my visa alone was $434 SGD which is like- WADdafuqqinhell. Essentially I am paying to work but I felt like the experience was once in a life-time and the benefits would outweigh the costs (seriously why am I talking like a cunt) so I went ahead with it anyway. Of course I have the most supportive parents in the world who didn't even care how much but they just felt like it would be a good opportunity for me too so they said don't worry and just go but of course I would like to pay them back... e... v e n t u a l l y. Thankfully I overhead that you could use edusave to pay for some stuff and I applied to use it so it covered about a thousand dollars.

I also applied for a school scholarship which of course I didn't get because my cap is a joke. Then one day in the office I prayed for God to give me money HAHAHAAHAHHA because I take note of my daily expenses and was like wtf I live like a broke bitch and I've still spent so much (to be exact I said "Omg I'm damn poor God please send money. Thanks, Amen.) and two days later I woke up to an email that said I got the scholarship because some other applicants withdrew. MIND BLOWN. Sure, you may say that's just coincidence but to each his own.

Just to add, New York City is everything I have ever dreamt of and more. It's just amazing here. I walk the streets of Manhattan feeling like everyday is just the best day EVER and everything is just so pretty and perfect :) The downside is that sometimes I do feel scared cause it's so much unsafer than Singapore. Thank God I've only had to be alone like once. I'm so happy here I don't even feel the least bit homesick other than when my mom tells me MANY TIMES that she "misses me so much" and I get the image of her crying the day before I left and I feel so bad hahahahahaha. I miss my friends and family but not in a "omg i wish i was back home way". I really feel disconnected to everyone though despite paying ONEEEE HUNDREDDDDD DOLLARSSSSS for my phone plan so that I get to whatsapp everyone all the time. Maybe it's the time difference too.

My internship is going great. I work under two very capable workaholics. They are an African-American couple. Yesterday I attended a meeting and it was so cool cause we video-conferenced people in 3 other areas. Had lunch with the CEO after the meeting and she is such an interesting figure. Very scary though. We talked about politics and economics and I surprised myself by actually being able to hold the conversation lololololol. I have alot of respect for them especially after seeing how the clients sing such high praises of them. My work area is also really nice.

Also, my roommates are two hong kong girls and they are the cutest girls in the world. Love them so much. Sometimes before I even open the door when I'm trying to unlock it I can here Yan shouting my name HAHAHAHA. Damn funny. And I actually get super sad when i get home and they are sleeping already.

The story is too long but feel free to ask me in real life but be warned I get very angry and bitchy. Anyway, iPhone is great but batt is kind of an asshole. Supposed to meet for drinks then head for supper but I finished my work at 1230am so I didn't make it for drinks. Sobs. Went to Ki's house after and spent hours laughing at his childhood photos. He gave me Givenchy PJ pants from SIA. hahahaehhehehe. I ate raspberries.

Fucking wide spread. The cooked food was so-so but the cheese, ham, oysters, sashimi and dessert was yumz. They also had a pasta station so I made the chef cook squid ink pasta for me.

Lime Tree

Recess Week was about a week ago and dat shit passed by so fast seriously. I didn't even get to go out and party or whatever. Zzzz. Been shit busy with life and my work has piled up so high- i don't even. Gonna use this week to catch up on my backlog. Anyway here's some recap of the fun stuff the past three weeks!

Coopiecakes' 1st Burfday~

 Nut and Nadia were kind enough to invite us to Coopie's birthday!! Justine went mad and ate about half of the giant elmo agar agar. I hate agar agar. 

 

Hangin' w Par

 Went to Par's place on Sunday to dye my hair and have our usual slumber party. Macs for dinner. Did work at her place and then drank wine and talked till 6am. Woke up at 10am to make sure my projectmate submitted our project (Life) hahahaha. Went to eat at Nakhon. This is really just our slumber party ritual. hahahahehehe love you.

 Woan and I headed down to Holland V's La Nonna for some pasta before going home to study till like 11am zzzzz.

 Super yummy plus they have some 1 for 1 lunch deals!

Think we ended up spending only $25 each- and the wine was about $15 so the pasta was only $10 lulz

Skype with Ida

 Hammie and I used to skype everyday and study together and there were even some days when she would nap and we would leave the skype on hahahahhAHAHAHAHAH. #Lesbehonest

Then life got in the way as always so we had to make some changes so we skype maybe once a month only but we try to talk everyday on whatsapp. This was at 12am SG time and we ended up GOING THROUGH OUR LIPSTICK STASH UNTIL 2AM AHAHAHAHA

Painting my nails

 Since I decided to stop biting my nails (Dec last year) I have had to paint them about twice a week cuz I HAVE TO have nail pol on them otherwise they will tear cuz i have brittle nails and i am abit ocd so if my nail pol chips (which it will in about 2days) i have to scratch off all and paint again and the process is excruciatingly painful. I have inhaled SO MUCH nail polish and nail polish remover that i thought confirm asthma-until-go-hospital style again. But God has been good. HAHAHA

 Babies r growing up so fast. :( Love dem like mad.

Also, passed my Basic Theory Test HAHAHAHAHAHA. At this rate I would most likely be able to drive when I'm 30.

Korean Classes

 Debi and I go for Korean Classes on Mondays from 7-9pm. Had our first lesson it was pretty good. Learnt the basics and vowels and consonants of Hangul. I feel really satisfied cuz I've been wanting to learn a new language since 3 years ago but have procrastinated until now so good job to me for finally getting down to it. My mom kept asking me if i am sure that I have time. The answer is no. Obviously i have no time. But i guess I have to make time because if i keep waiting for time to fall into my hands I would most likely never get anything done. 

Marion's visit

 Been super excited ever since schnuffs told me she was gonna visit. That was about 2 months ago. hahahahaHAHAHA I haven't seen her in 9 months since I was in Switzerland. :(

We had dinner at Jumbo on Friday. I had a massive headache as well as my mid term the next day.

On Saturday I met her aft my exam at plaza sing and she bought $400 worth of Dorothy Perkins HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Overdo.

 Went back to their hotel because they had been out the whole day and wanted a quick shower before dinner! I gave them a list of hotels and they settled on Fragrance Hotel at Riverside. I was worried it'd be abit dodge because of Fragrance+Hotel 81+ prostitutes vibes BUT SURPRISINGLY this one was completely legit and it wasn't too expensive or too cheap. It was like $150 a night and it's right opposite Central mall. And they even had a rooftop pool checkittt.

They wanted to know where I hang out nowadays so ofc I had to bring them to WINEEE CONNECCCCTIONNNNN. Had the cheese platter which was damn yumz too. and two bottles of wine. Got home at 4am and woke up at 8am the next day to go to the airport. Omagaddd.

 Marion left to go to Chiang Mai then Bangkok then Ha Long Bay then back to Mui ne (?) where she's currently working. Took a picture with the ID machine HAHAHA. Gonna keep it in my wallet ^^

I also had a pimple break out this week and there were like 3 red spots on my face. WAZ SO ANNOYED. and no amounts of concealer or wadevs could cover that shit. Terrible. Also been listening to tons of indie/old songs from the 90s like R. Kelly and Kci & Jojo- stuff I used to listen to when I was about 10. GOOD STUFF.

Still trying to understand the lyrics tho. Also there's this thing called 8tracks where you can go to listen to music. I find it quite interesting and that's where I first heard this song.

CNY EVE

Ahyee & Ahdniu recently moved back to the terrace so YEYYY back to having BBQs. Went for CNY reunion lunch at their place and ound ah dniu standing in the backyard over the grill with a massive umbrella.

Ate corn, salad, marble beef, mashed potatoes and sausages. Yums.

He took out his cuban cigars to show us. He has DRAWERS of this. He was like "I'm leaving this out so anyone who wants can help themselves" I would have taken 10 but my parents would lose it. hahahaha

CNY Day 1

Bought this dress for school/work but didn't have time to get new CNY clothes in the end so I just wore this.

My shoes don't match but they were also new so I just had to wear em. hehe

Went to the mansion again for CNY Lunch but I had to bring my work there cuz I had to submit the assignment at 11:59pm on CNY Day 1, good job professor thank you for being so considerate.

I worked on the assignment for a whole week for realz and I'm still uncertain if I can get more than 2/10. HAHAHAHA

 

Korkor sent photos of his bed in Switz so I sent him this hahahahahhhahaha. 

Went to Ah yee's place at night for STEAMMMBOATTT.

 

Day 2

Went to visit my gonggong's siblings, had popiah.

I also spent the afternoon making a collage as my Aunt's "housewarming" gift

Went t visit my Godparents who live in Choa Chu Kang. Damn far away, I wished they stayed nearer I would definitely visit them more than once a year. :(

Back to Yee's house for Indian food. Lulz. See dem babies.

Met Boo for drinks at Wine CONNEXXXTION. This is my new fav hangout. 

Repeat of Le Noir Night (i.e. plan to have a civilised night out, end up drinking too much, drunk, robotards come out)

CNY Day 3

Spent the afternoon looking for a present for Ki. Nearly got this but stupidass Debi said NONONONONO. Had a lovely dinner with Ki and all at Garibaldi at Purvis Street (I keep callng it Grimaldi HAHAHAHA)

Went to wine connection with Debi and Woani for spontaneous Vday drinks ^^ Fun tymes

Day 4:

Stayed home to catch up on some work, met jiejie lydia to watch Journey to The West (so retarded it's funny) and stayed over at the terrace again.

Day 5: 

CNY Steamboat at Debi's place WHICH ALSO HAPPENS to be Geylang. I think that is the worst place to stay in SG. It was terrible and I will never go back there again hahahahahaa

Errrr Went to wine connection again. HAHAHAHAHA. As usual the wine damn strong and this time we couldn't even finish it and everything was spinning so we had to stop drinking and calm down then Boo wanted to eat thosai so we went to Little India the we went to Mustafa to get some shit. Hehe.

Day 6:

I teach tuition now to a Primary 2 boy. I told him to think of some games we could play during out break. He said Lego.

Then he tried to ask me where babies come from.

Then he invited me to his sister's birthday party.

Then I asked him "What day is Friday" (We were talking about weekdays and weekends)

He said Wednesday.

How to not burst out laughing??? Too cute!

Day 7:

Assthur held me hostage in my brother's room and forced me to play with her. Gotta give her props cuz she's super creative. She took my ipod and said she's fishing. Then she fished up cows, pigs, eggs and chickens. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA. All of which I ate.

Then she was a doctor. Hehe. So cutie.

Speaking of which, they told me they will take 2 weeks but it has been a month and still no news. I called them up and told the woman about my plight and SHE LAUGHED. 

School is really busy and stressful. Thank God for recess next week. I spent 10 hours in school today. Sobs.
